Inspired by explorer presenters Michael Palin, Billy Connolly and the
cross continental LongWayRound bike tours of Ewan McGregor and
Charley Boorman, two Aussie cops, Dan Valentine and Tony Kekich,
pack their backpacks and a trusty old 1989 XF Ford utility to explore
different regions of their beautiful country. Allowing about a week
or two, these new intrepid adventurers whiparound the less seen
parts of regional Australia to seek out eye-opening wonders and
interesting characters that any avid traveller and those who prefer
to do their sight seeing on their favorite recliner will enjoy. Dan and
Tony do all the work themselves. They travel, film, edit, produce.
They just don't play the cool music. That is generously supplied by
great artists from jamendo. Dan and Tony did their first trip in July
2008 where they toured around the Wimmera Mallee. In June 2009
they travelled over the higest peaks in the country before heading
to the most southern region on the mainland. May of 2010 saw Dan
and Tony go on their third tour, Tasmania, nicknamed "The Apple
Isle". Filming everything on handycams, here is a trailer of their
third adventure in 2010. You can also see the whiparound 2 trailer.
